Top Tips for Student and Parents

Have you seen the reports for Students and Parents?

  1. Run the Individual Reports for Students:

    • Individual reports for students provide a student-friendly explanation of the student’s results with an informative narrative to help them become aware of their strengths and challenges and take ownership of their learning.

Discussing an individual profile of strengths and challenges with the learner and their parents will help to support empowering conversations and ownership of future learning.

Guidance to support these conversations can be found on our support pages and in the Teacher Guide (page 48-50).

    You may wish to:

    • Explain the difference between CAT4 (as an ability test) versus other attainment assessments
    • Manage expectations by framing conversations about using CAT4 data to explore future performance indicators
    • Reassure parents and students that the data will be used to support teaching and learning decisions to enable learner success
  2. Run the Individual Reports for Parents:

    • Individual reports for parents offer a parent-friendly overview of a child’s scores, enabling the parent to see where strengths and weaknesses lie. The report also includes future attainment indicators and suggestions for how to support their child at home.
